The circumstances were difficult, but the youngsters from the Oberland Ski Association at the Schlichtner Cup in Lenggries showed that they can drive very quickly.

Landkreis / Lenggries - There was a double event on Sunday on the Lenggries World Cup slope. While the school elite of the Oberland Ski Association (SVO) played their Super G in the Sparkassen-Cup racing series in the morning, the age groups U11 and U12 were challenged in the afternoon, who also completed a giant slalom in two rounds as part of the Intersport Schlichtner Cup. The whole thing was, of course, due to the lack of snow in the Oberland. This year, only the Sonnenbichl slope in Bad Wiessee and the Lenggries World Cup slope were available for ski races - thanks to machine snow.

Sporty, Carla Oberhuber from Reichersbeurer made her mark on the rescheduled Schlichtner Cup. With 1: 28.17 minutes, she not only won the U11 girls, she was also faster than the best boys of the same age and the one year older girls of the U12. Only the older boys showed that they too can ski quickly. This year's series winner Max Holzinger from SC Rottach-Egern set the best time of the day with 1: 26.53 minutes. Leonhard Wustmann (SC Bad Tölz) was only 3.3 tenths of a second slower than second. In contrast, the distance to third-placed Kreuther Andreas Aumann was considerable (1: 30.98 minutes).

In the U11 girls, Anna-Maria Grünwalder (1: 32.03 / SC Bad Tölz) and Amelie Haider (1: 34.40 / SC Lenggries) followed the fast Carla Oberhuber. The boys won here Josselin Moubayed (1: 31.11 / Rough Riders) ahead of Luis Renz (1: 31.91 / SC Lenggries). Julian Rose (1: 33.28) from SC Kreuth followed in third place. Lucia Huber (SC Bad Tölz) won the U12 girls with 1: 28.78 minutes. She was followed by Mareike Schiffner (1: 31.02 / TuS Holzkirchen) and Julia Machl (1: 31.37 / SC Ostin).

While the piste held up well to the stress of the double race day despite spring-like temperatures, the acoustics at the award ceremony on the other hand struck. SCL boss Karl Gerg had to demonstrate his full vocal power.
