At the European Cup in Grasgehren, Celia Trinkl and Leon Beckhaus did well - and at the same time secured top places in the German championship.
Miesbach - At Snowboard Germany, the national team of snowboard athletes, Celia Trinkl and Leon Beckhaus (both SC Miesbach) are now big names. The two snowboard crossers have now demonstrated that they do not have to hide from the national and international competition at the European Cup in Grasgehren near Oberstdorf, where the German championships were held at the same time. Trinkl secured the vice championship, Beckhaus finished third.
Above all, Beckhaus had to stretch, because in the end five German starters made it into the top 15 of the European Cup. The 22-year-old won his round of 16, but missed the semi-finals in the quarter-finals as third of his heat. So time had to decide in the end. With 38.14 seconds he made it to tenth place and was the third best German behind Sebastian Pietrzykowski (WSV Ebingen / 7th) and Martin Nörl (DJK-SV Adlkofen / 9th) bronze at the DM. The Spaniard Lucas won the European Cup Eguibar.
By contrast, Trinkl missed the quarter-finals for women. With 42.03 seconds she finished 22nd in the European Cup victory of the Czech Olympic champion Eva Samkova. But in a national comparison, the 17-year-old belongs to the top. Only Hanna Ihedioha (SC Dingolfing / 41.74 seconds) was faster than the Waakirchner. This gave Trinkl the German Vice Championship ahead of Lilith Kuhnert (SC Konstanz).
