Hallbergmoos - There is a final at the start. VfB Hallbergmoos will play the decisive game at 1. FC Sonthofen on Saturday (2 p.m.) to move into the 1st round of the Totopokal of the coming season. The winner can hope for prominent opponents up to TSV 1860 Munich.
VfB coach Gedi Sugzda leaves no doubt that he takes this game seriously and wants to play trophy next season. The failures (including Bauer, Diranko, Beierkuhnlein, Edlböck) are irrelevant: "We have 14 field players with us and are ready."
The two winter additions Simon Werner and Kaan Aygün should be in the starting XI with offensive roles. Aygün is also available for the task in the storm center that he does not quite like: "He is happy when he can make a difference."
The small cup final is contested by two top teams of the Landesliga, both of which are in wait. Sonthofen currently occupies third place in the Landesliga Südwest and Hallbergmoos is fourth in the southeast. "You can't ask for a better opponent," says Sugzda. This first competitive game six days before the Landesliga restart against Ampfing fits the coach's concept. For the strong opponent, he also gladly accepts the long journey. One of the cup specials is, of course, that there must be a winner in the end. In the event of a tie after 90 minutes, the penalty shoot-out would follow immediately, where the Hallbergmoosers would not have to hide either. Goalkeeper Ferdi Kozel has the reputation of a 911 killer, and Sugzda has a choice of shooters. "With us all penalties can shoot and do not have to practice that in training," says the coach. With a grin, he shifts afterwards: “We are walling up to 0-0 to achieve the penalty shoot-out.” It is clear that VfB Hallbergmoos in Sonthofen has the clear mission to make the Totopokal participation clear in 90 minutes.
