Oklahoma City (dpa) - Dennis Schröder and the Oklahoma City Thunder have won their fifth game in a row in the North American professional basketball league NBA. The Thunder were lagging behind the Sacramento Kings for a long time and still prevailed with 112: 108 (50:61).
The German international did not have his best day and only converted four of his twelve throws from the field. In the end there were 13 points, five rebounds and seven assists, but also three ball losses for Schröder.
Oklahoma was 19 points behind in the third quarter, before the Thunder made decisive progress with 15 points in series. Before the final quarter there was only 81:82 - there, Oklahoma was able to turn a backlog for the 15th time this season, by far more often than any other team. The best thrower was Danilo Gallinari with 24 points.
With the narrow victory, the Thunder remain fifth in the tight playoff race of the Western Conference. Behind leaders Los Angeles Lakers, six teams are separated by just four wins.
In the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia Sixers defeated the New York Knicks 115: 106 (61:46) even without their two injured all-stars Ben Simmons (back) and Joel Embiid (shoulder). The league's strongest team - only two defeats in 30 games - won the 14th home game in a row.
