Neymar (still) attacks Barça in court and claims 6.5 million euros

THE SCAN SPORT - According to El Mundo, the Parisian striker claims 6.5 million euros from his former club due to tax litigation dating from 2013 at the time of his arrival in Catalonia.

The standoff between the Neymar clan and the leaders of FC Barcelona continues with a new complaint before the courts filed by the representatives of the Brazilian against the Catalan club. This third act, revealed by El Mundo , is linked to the condemnation of Barça and its president Josep Maria Bartomeu, convicted of having established financial arrangements to conceal certain remunerations of the attacker. FC Barcelona had used fictitious image contracts to avoid paying income taxes.

The Spanish tax authorities considered that it was indeed income and that as such, it should be subject to taxation, payable by Neymar. The Parisian star had been ordered to pay a check for 6.5 million euros. The Brazilian clan considers that this sum should be borne by the former employer. Hence the legal action of Ney and his relatives.

Almost 40 million euros in litigation between the two parties

Neymar, who has already faced the Blaugrana twice for financial disputes, would have claimed a total of 38.6 million euros from FC Barcelona since he joined Paris SG in the summer of 2017. In January 2018 , he had demanded 28.6 million euros following the blocking of a contract renewal bonus and last December, his lawyers demanded 3.5 million euros for unpaid wages.
