Peißenberg - TSV Peißenberg's "ice hackers" have reached the pre-play-off round in the Bayernliga. The team of coach Simon Mooslechner finished the relegation round in second place - and now meets the EHC Waldkraiburg. The winner may take part in the play-offs for the Oberliga.
The "ice hackers" had no play on Sunday evening, the last day of the relegation round. Competitor ESC Geretsried could have driven Peißenberg out of second place with a high win at ESC Dorfen, but the "River Rats" lost 2: 5 in the "Eispiraten" in front of around 350 spectators. Several Peißenbergers had traveled to Dorfen to watch the game.
The team of ex-“ice hackers” coach Randy Neal was not helped by the success. Dorfen has to play in the play-downs because rival Schweinfurt won against Pfaffenhofen in parallel. In the fight against relegation to the national league, the ESC meets the "mammoths" of EA Schongau. They lost - badly replaced - against EHC Königsbrunn 2: 6.
