In Weiden, the SCR continued where it left off last Friday: expanding the winning streak. With the 3-2 win against the Blue Devils, the eighth three in a row succeeded. “The games against Weiden have always been close. I'm happy that we won, ”emphasizes Kink.
When his team came out of the cabin with momentum, they needed patience this time. The first stage of the game was manageable. Highlights: In short supply. The SCR had more of a visual impact, but was initially unable to convert this superiority into something that could be counted. The guests were not compelling enough to embarrass the Upper Palatinate. On the contrary - the hosts had the first chance to lead. Jakub Bitomsky but failed to SCR keeper Daniel Allavena. Riessersee captain Florian Vollmer caused danger on the other side. The striker had already passed the willow goalkeeper Daniel Filimonow, but the goal net remained empty. Vollmer was blocked at the last moment. In the next attempt it worked better. Vollmer prepared the 1-0 with Victor Östling. Tobias Kircher finally accommodated the transverse pane in the gate.
The game became livelier in the second round. If it set the first penalty time in the first section about one and a half minutes before the siren, it was now tougher. Weiden came into play better, the SCR, on the other hand, lost a bit of an overview. Did too many fouls. The result: The guests from Garmisch-Partenkirchen often visited the penalty bench. "It got us out of rhythm," admits Kink. Actually no problem against willows. The Blue Devils are not exactly known for their strong power play. In addition, the SCR has been defending very well lately. The hosts took advantage of a double majority. Forward Tomas Rubes was able to equalize at that time.
A wake-up call for the Werdenfelser. The Kink team took over again. Tried to put a little more stamp on the game. It was not really formative at first. Willow was against it. Ran up. But the SCR made the goal. A strong pass from Eetu-Ville Arkiomaa reached Anton Radu on the Blue Line. He made his way towards the gate. Proven nervousness and sunk the disk 2: 1 for the SCR in the net. Riessersee followed up with the lead in the back. A skilful combination again brought Radu home - 3: 1. The hosts kept up and showed an overall courageous performance. Barry Noe brought them back in. But not anymore either. The SCR held the lead and thus the valuable fourth place. "I'm now looking forward to the derby against Rosenheim," says Kink. "We can make fourth place clear with a win."
