Literally in the last second, the SG Schliersee / Miesbach 1b makes the semi-finals in the ice hockey district league perfect.
Miesbach - What a game! What a finale! What a success! The nerves of the spectators were really not spared, in the third and all-important quarter-final game between the SG Schliersee / Miesbach 1b and the EHC Straubing. Both teams had won a duel, so the decision had to be made in Miesbach. In the end, both sides deserved to move into the district league semi-finals, but the district cracks had the better end with a 6: 5 win.
The final phase was particularly tough. At 5: 3, the hosts looked like the sure winner two minutes before the end. Then the guests took the keeper off the ice in favor of a sixth field player and came up to 5: 4. A good 30 seconds later, the disenchantment with the veins was great, because Straubing came, again with one more field player, to the 5: 5 equalization. Then five seconds before the end bully in the attack zone: the first shot: repelled; the margin: repelled again; the third attempt: unlimited cheering at the SG. The scoreboard showed 59:59 minutes when Benedikt Galler overcame the Straubinger keeper with his winning goal to 6: 5.
The Schlierseer and Miesbacher celebrated with their fans the entry into the semi-final against SG Bayersoien / Peiting 1b with a lap of honor, a bowling ball and a number of dances.
But one thing at a time: The guests got off to a better start in Miesbach, who defeated SG keeper Markus Voit for the first time after a minute. From then on it went up and down, the viewers were able to see a quick and balanced encounter. The prudent referees, who ran a lot, also played their part in this. A two-on-one situation ended Seppi Ziegler 1-1.
The second third was also balanced, with slight advantages for the Schlierseer and Miesbacher, Benedikt Galler put the home side in the lead for the first time, then Voit kept his team outnumbered with strong saves before Galler again turned 3-1. In the final section, Maxi Haug made it 4-1 with Blueliner, but Straubing immediately came back to 4-2. Then the guests made it exciting with the 4: 3, before Dominik Willibald scored with a backhand goal for the supposed preliminary decision to 5: 3. But what followed was probably the craziest final phase that had been seen in the Miesbach ice stadium for a long time.
“You can see how close genius and madness are to each other, but these are exactly the moments for which you play ice hockey. In the first third we were overly nervous, Straubing was well positioned and tried everything, ”said coach Horst Forster after the encounter. “Then we got into the game better and wanted to close the sack in the last third, which we actually did. I don't know what happened in the last few minutes, we had weak knees and fear of victory, but it doesn't matter, now things can go on like this. ”
