Unterhaching - SpVgg Unterhaching have signed Lucas Markert from Bayern League team ATSV Erlangen for next season. The 19-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract with the third-division soccer team until 2023. Markert had noticed the Hachingers in a cup duel a year and a half ago - since then the SpVgg has been watching the young talent. In November, the 19-year-old trained for the first time at the SpVgg and also traveled to the winter training camp in Cadiz (Spain).
Steffen Galm predicts Markert's great development in Unterhaching
"Lucas is very intelligent about the game and also has all the tools to implement it," says Steffen Galm, Head of Development and Team Planning. "Despite his youth, he has played many games in the men's area and will continue to improve with us."
Manfred Schwabl convinced Lucas Markert of the Hachinger Weg
Markert completed a total of 47 games in the Bayernliga Nord, scoring six goals (14 assists). "I'm extremely happy to have this great opportunity," says Markert. “The conversations with Manfred Schwabl, Steffen Galm and Claus Schromm convinced me of Haching. The way to bet on young players is perfect for me and my development. ”
The SpVgg supports Lucas in completing his training
As his father Jörg Markert reports, "in principle we had been in agreement since January". Only a few details had to be clarified - among other things, the 19-year-old would like to complete his training and therefore return to his home country about once a week. The SpVgg has promised to support the young man in this. Lucas Markert will storm for the ATSV Erlangen anyway, who is currently in seventh place in the Bayernliga Nord. mbe
