Tobias Rehse, the new coach of TSV Neuried II, has a tricky task ahead of him. It is up to moderation and direction to cope with the relegation league.

Neuried - Despite their poor position in the table, the TSV Neuried reserve footballers cannot be led astray. "We will continue to stick to our philosophy in the future," says Tobias Rehse, who has only been on the sidelines of the district league team for a few weeks. The TSV pursues the approach of ball possession football with its men's teams and older youth teams.

So Neuried played second before the winter break - at that time still under the coaching team Hüseyin Sözer / Cenkhan Kabalakli - quite pleasing, but it was only enough in points in three of 14 games. The green and whites logically spend the winter in a relegation zone with just seven points.

TSV Neuried II holds on to the season goal in the Kreisliga 2 Munich

Despite the bad starting position (four points behind the relegation places, nine on the non-relegation zone), the new coach holds on to the relegation goal of the season. If necessary, this would have to be achieved via the relegation, as in the previous year. "That is realistic," says Rehse.

In order to get his players in the best possible shape for the competitive start to 2020 next weekend, the coach, like many of his colleagues, is preparing for fitness among other things. The new songs have been back on the square since the beginning of February. Classic game forms are also regularly trained.

Rehse does not want to make his units too monotonous, in which he is mostly supported either by Davide Taurino or Roland Hermann. The coach benefits from the fact that he can usually fall back on several goalkeepers in training and thus incorporate qualifications. "Most can kick. The point now is to get the fun back in and build a team spirit, ”explains Rehse.

Coach Rehse has to form players from four teams into one team

Strengthening cohesion is likely to be the 32-year-old's most difficult task. After all, he has to put together a team of three to four different teams every week. The thin squad of the second should regularly help players from the lavish district league troop of coach Maximilian Reid. Rehse also wants to incorporate more players from the third, where he also works as a coach together with Hermann. Finally, there is Taurinos U19, from which, however, due to age reasons, only a few juniors are even allowed to play in the men's area.

Rehse is satisfied with the training participation in the preparation. "We were able to work constructively," he says. This is also due to the fact that the exercise units are sometimes merged together with A youth or a third team, which is also intended to increase cross-team cohesion.

Test games from TSV Neuried II: expandable - especially the attack

The results in the test games, however, were still expandable: a draw and two defeats stand for the green-whites. At the dress rehearsal last Sunday, the TSV again failed to score. In the second half of the season, the Würmtaler still have to work hard on the danger of scoring. So far, they have only been able to cheer in the league eleven times - by far the least of all teams.

From now on, Lukas Schmitz can no longer help the Neuieder with this project. The midfielder, who had joined TSV just before the season, moved back to Rhineland-Palatinate. Rehse was able to welcome two external players in training, both of whom are new to Munich and are flirting with an engagement in Neuried. The duo would not only benefit the district league quantitatively. "You would definitely be a reinforcement," reveals the coach. At least he has no long-term injuries.

Descent would not be the end of the world - Rehse's whereabouts are still uncertain

If the project failed to keep its class at the end of the season, the world would not end in the sports park. "We already have a special situation with two teams in the district and district leagues," says Rehse, who does not yet know whether he will continue as a coach beyond the summer. "We will sit down at the end of the second half of the season," he announces. Until then, the 32-year-old wants to give everything for the New League league.
