Following announcements made last night by the government banning gatherings of more than 1,000 people to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, EcoTrail de Paris has decided to postpone its events which were to take place this week. The hundred runners of Verticale de la Tour Eiffel, the only outdoor ascension race in the world, will therefore not climb the steps of the Iron Lady on Wednesday 11 March. "However, in agreement with the various stakeholders involved in the holding of the event, we are pleased to be able to inform you that La Verticale de la Tour Eiffel will be held on September 30, 2020," announced the press release on Facebook.
Regarding the EcoTrail, the races were to take place on March 14 and 15. Finally, "the trails will be held on October 3, 2020, unless otherwise instructed by the authorities," said the organizers of the EcoTrail in Paris in a statement on Twitter. Additional information remains to come regarding the event's hikes and Nordic walks.
