Penzberg - The Masters ski racers of the Penzberg Ski Club are always good for top positions. They proved this once again at the German Senior Championship, which took place in Hochfügen in Austria. Bronze three times - that was the balance for the SCP team.

The medals were taken care of by Klaus Bergmann and Gerhard Resenberger, both of whom start in the age group “60 to 64 years”. Bergmann had loudly announced "already shone in speed competitions last season". In the two Super G races, which he finished third overall, he also showed that the fast disciplines suit him. The Super-G had to be completed in two sprint runs because the slope was too short for one run. Bergmann was fifth in the giant slalom, eighth in the slalom and "successfully rounded off the championship," the SC said in a message.

Masters DM: Gerhard Resenberger is content with a slalom start

Gerhard Resenberger is known as a real medal collector. In 2005, 2012 and 2013, he had already won Masters titles in various disciplines. Last winter, the former SCP chair won gold in the giant slalom. This time Resenberger was satisfied with a start in the slalom and won the bronze medal. On top of that, he finished third in overall category B, i.e. all drivers over the age of 60. For Klaus Hartstein (60 to 64 years) a seventh place in the giant slalom came out in Hochfügen. He finished eighth in slalom and tenth in giant slalom.

Masters DM: Thomas Koitsch just missed a medal

Thomas Koitsch, who had already achieved podiums in international races this season, barely missed a medal at the German championship. In the age group "45 to 49 years" he finished fourth in the slalom. Koitsch finished fifth in the Super-G and giant slalom. For the SCP sports manager, the appearance in Hochfügen was also a dress rehearsal for the international Masters Cup races next weekend in Serre Chevalier in France. At the event of the series in Zagreb at the end of January, Koitsch won silver in slalom and shone third in the alpine combination (Super-G and slalom).

In a double role, Alois Eichner was in action in Hochfügen. The Penzberger is the Masters representative of the German Ski Association and was therefore the highest official at the event. In the end Eichner was satisfied with the course of the DM, because the WSV Wiesing had ensured an all-round successful event with "exceptionally good conditions". The Penzberger even found time to intervene as a racer. In the "65 to 69 years" class, he finished sixth (Super-G) and twice a seventh place (giant slalom / slalom).
