Heinz-Günter Deuster headed the Bavarian amateur boxers for 15 years. The Peitinger, who was also active as a judge, was highly regarded - this was also evident when he was adopted.

Peiting - At the end, the delegates rose and gave their previous president a standing ovation. After 15 years at the head of the Bavarian Amateur Boxing Association (BABV), Heinz-Günter Deuster (70) no longer stood for re-election. Health reasons and also a severe stroke of fate were decisive for the decision of the Peitinger.

Deuster was literally the “boss in the ring” for the boxers. Because the Duisburg native also worked as a judge, in 1999 he obtained the international ring and judge license. In the region, he was regularly involved in the marquee appearances of the boxing relay of TSV Peißenberg - and bribed with a relaxed and at the same time sovereign manner. He led and conducted 468 referee missions abroad, in German championships and in the 1st Bundesliga he judged around 5000 competitions.

Boxing: Heinz-Günter Deuster was a good boxer himself

Deuster was a respectable amateur boxer himself. He boxed for the PSV Duisburg, LL / LTS-TSV Schongau and the BR Peiting for 20 years. In the Welter and Light Middleweight division he took part in country comparisons, got into the ring against the multiple German title holder Günter Peters and took it to the Lower Rhine runner-up.

The trained wholesale merchant signed up to the Bundeswehr in 1967, took up the career of an officer in the military service and was responsible for parachute technology and parachute training. In 1992 Deuster, father of a daughter, came back to Altenstadt (where he was shortly after his basic training), where the captain was stationed until the end of his service in 2004.

Boxing: Heinz-Günter Deuster has been working as an official since 1992

His functionary began in 1992 as a board member in BR Peiting and later at TSV Peißenberg. In 1998 Deuster took over the position of youth worker in the district of Upper Bavaria for four years. "During this time, he noticed the BABV because of his meticulous way of working," says a message. In 2001 he was brought up to the top of the association as the 1st state sports attendant. In 2005 the delegates elected him president of the association. In addition, he was responsible for the DBV (German Boxing Sports Association) as an assessor in the sports court, DBV vice president for mass sports and representatives of the national associations and as vice president "competitive sports".

Deuster has received numerous awards for his work. Among other things, he received the badge of honor in gold from the BR Peiting, the badge of honor in gold from the BABV and the badge of honor in gold with silver laurel leaf from the Bavarian State Sports Association. The Bavarian State Minister for Education and Culture awarded him the Medal of Honor for special services to sport. On the last day of his activity as BABV President, he received the highest award from the DBV: the DBV merit needle in gold with diamonds.

It was "definitely not presumptuous to say: Heinz-Günter Deuster was the best president who has ever led the BABV", the association said in a message. Karl-Heinrich Pauckner (Weissenburg / Middle Franconia) was chosen as Deuster's successor.

This is also interesting:

Ganghofer run with sun, snowfall and victories - record participation was recorded in the 50th Ganghofer run. There were also cross-country skiers from the district. Two women came out on top in their classes.

Nieberle and Hoffmann fight for the title - boxing events used to be a tradition in Schongau. In recent years, however, it has been quiet about fistfighting. That changed with the founding of the boxing department at TSV Schongau last year. The youngest TSV offspring has now successfully passed its baptism of fire with the Upper Bavarian Championship in the Lechsporthalle.

Because of the corona virus: There is currently no sporting activity here - nobody is currently getting around the topic: the corona virus. For athletes, this currently means forced breaks.

Nick Jäger as fast as a arrow in the mud - the cross-country DM in Sindelfingen developed into a real mud battle. Nick Jäger (TSV Penzberg) did not let this slow them down. And after the race it got really hectic.
