Meppen (dpa) - Football third division SV Meppen wants to apply for short-time work for its players and employees by the end of April.
"Personnel costs determine a very large part of all expenses. We have to reduce expenses in order to meet the lack of income," Meppen CFO Stefan Gette said in a statement by the association. "The aim is to avoid impending bankruptcy through austerity measures."
Due to the corona pandemic, the 3rd league has ceased to play until April 30, 2020. "We quickly got an agreement and positive signals from the third division team to apply for short-time work," said CEO Andreas Kremer.
