Michel Hidalgo buried with a tracksuit from Olympique de Marseille

The funeral of the former coach of the France team took place on Tuesday in the Marseille city.


The coach of the 1984 European champions Michel Hidalgo, was to be buried Tuesday with a tracksuit of the Olympique de Marseille, club of the city where he lived and of which he was sports director from 1986 to 1991, announced his family. "Michel will be buried Tuesday morning (...) dressed for his big departure from the tracksuit of OM," wrote his wife, Monique, in a press release. She also thanked the group of supporters of the Old Guard for a “Thank you Hidalgo” banner hung in front of the Velodrome stadium. “Thank you again for your affection for Michel. He deserves it because he passionately loved OM and the city of Marseille until he never left it, ”she wrote.

Died Thursday at the age of 87, Michel Hidalgo was buried in the most intimate privacy due to health measures in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
