Part three of the series by soccer suburb / FuPa Upper Bavaria: What will the midfield of the Bayern U23 look like in the coming season? Who can hope for professional assignments and who threatens to say goodbye?

  • Angelo Stiller and Sarpreet Singh convince at the U23 this season.
  • The two youngsters could be candidates for a rental business or even knock on the door of Hansi Flick .
  • With other players in small Bavaria , however, the signs are goodbye.

Who stays, who goes? At FC Bayern U23 , this question arises after every season. For example, Franck Evina (KFC Uerdingen) or Adrian Fein (Hamburger SV) are currently on loan to other professional teams. In a five-part series we will give a possible outlook on the individual team parts in the coming days and analyze in which positions the team can use reinforcements for the upcoming tasks in the 3rd division .

In the third part of the series we focus on the midfield . Some players' contracts expire in the summer. Are these extended?

Do the experienced men stay at FCB?

Maximilian Welzmüller is one of the experienced foxes at the Bayern Reserve. With his experience, he helps many young players and is one of the stabilizers in midfield . The 30-year-old still has a contract until 2021 and will probably remain in Munich beyond the season. He dreams of ending his professional career with the record champions.

Another veteran of Bayern amateurs is Timo Kern . The 30-year-old came from Waldhof Mannheim before the season and has a contract until 2022 . Together with Welzmüller, he pulls the strings in midfield and exudes a goal threat. Kern is likely to remain a Bayern player next season.

Angelo Stiller takes center stage

Angelo Stiller is one of the surprises in the second half of the season . In the first half of the season Stiller played in the U19 . After the winter break, Stiller moved up to the second team and did not miss a minute of play at Bayern-Reserve. The midfielder is a symbol of the strong form of the Hoeneß team. The midfield stabilizer still has a contract until 2021 .

A departure of the 18-year-old is only conceivable if a loan business results in a higher league. Stiller is one of the greatest talents from Upper Bavaria and could perhaps also be on Hansi Flick's strong appearances after Christmas .

Bayern 2: Cuiscance not an issue - will Sarprett Singh remain?

Frenchman Mickael Cuisance is not a permanent candidate. The U20 international came from Borussia Mönchengladbach for twelve million euros before the season and is actually scheduled for the first team of Munich. So far, he has not been able to assert himself there and occasionally collected game practice with the second team . "I asked again if this was actually the right step", Max Eberl doubted after the change of French.

But Bayern seem to plan with the 20-year-old in the future. "We have an idea with him," Hasan Salihamidzic said at the beginning of the season. AC Milan are allegedly wooing the midfielder.

A candidate for a loan is Sarpreet Singh. The 21-year-old came to the Isar from Wellington Phoenix for significantly less than a million euros before the season. The New Zealander was convincing in his first season at Bayern-Reserve, has already been brought on by the professionals and is part of the extended squad of the first team. With seven goals in 20 games, he is the second best scorer in the U23 behind storm tank Otschi Wriedt and could have sparked interest from the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga .

Zylla, Will and Zaiser are change candidates

Jannik Rochelt has been used 13 times this season, six over the full distance. The 21-year-old lost his regular place on match day five and then only came twice over the entire 90 minutes . His contract runs until 2021 . The midfielder could fill the gaps that potential leavers leave.

Marcel Zylla is in a similar situation. The 20-year-old Pole is in the strong squad of small Bayern supplement players. The youngster's future is open, his contract expires in the summer.

With Maximilian Zaiser too, the signs are goodbye. The 21-year-old does not play a role this season, the contract ends at Zylla at the end of June .

Paul Will has often been part of the expanded squad of professionals and was allowed to play in test games with the first team . However, Will was repeatedly thwarted by injuries and the former Lauterer has strong competition in midfield. The last games in particular were bitter for the 21-year-old. Sebastian Hoeneß changed little in his starting formation in the six wins in seven games. Will had to braise on the bench. Despite working paper, the former junior international could wish to attack again in the summer by 2021 .

Our midfield forecast

Maximilian Welzmüller and Timo Kern will continue to lead the young talents in the coming season .

Angelo Stiller is one of the winners of the second half of the year, stays in Munich and can wait for his chance with Hansi Flick .

Sarpreet Singh has convinced and remains with the record champions . Bayern will only be convinced of a loan if there is an attractive and sensible request.

Mickael Cuisance is still not a candidate for the U23 and has higher goals than the 3rd division.

Jannik Rochelt stays in Munich and fights for a regular place in midfield.

Marcel Zylla and Maximilian Zylla are looking for a new challenge at another club this summer.

Paul Will will also change if the perspective does not change for him and he sees the chance of a regular place.

The fourth part of the U23 talent series will follow on Tuesday, April 7th. In it we look at the offensive of little Bavaria.
