Pipinsried - There are currently countless apps and programs on social networks that encourage you to keep fit. Of course, this also applies and in particular to the athletes - and of course also to the kickers of the Bayern League leader FC Pipinsried. However, a FCP kicker goes completely different ways: Benny Kauffmann is examined by his dog “Philly von Kauffmann” during every exercise. The four-year-old pygmy top looks at the exercises, whether push-ups or situps, of its owner mostly from a slightly elevated position. Philly became known beyond the feeding bowl limits in the social networks with a video in which he sat on his master's push-ups on his back - to complicate the difficulty of the exercise. Philly is also active at eye level, with another push-up variant Kauffmann must always give his dog a "high five" after standing up, otherwise the push-up is not counted. We used the time and conducted an exclusive interview with “Philly von Kauffmann”, who always keeps his owner Benny so busy.

Philly watches the master's training closely

Philly, dog life seems pretty boring these days?

Philly von Kauffmann: Well, it's been a difficult time. But I drive my master out at least twice a day so that Benny stays in shape. After all, I want something to eat every day - bones and steaks, you know. In addition, I look closely at the exercises, if necessary I have to intervene to correct them.

How did you get to know each other?

When Benny was still playing football in Burghausen, he saw me on an excursion during the non-training period. I have to admit, my country of birth is Austria, Burghausen is just around the corner. Somehow it worked out right away, I was taken with him relatively quickly, the mix was right.

Where does the name Philly come from Kaufmann?

Well, you're asking the right one. How do I know? I've asked Benny two or three times where the name comes from. And the answer was always the same: a shrug of the shoulders (bares your teeth and growls).

Philly and Benny share a passion for football

Do you have a special preference?

But hello. I immediately noticed that he was playing football. I immediately showed him that I also love balls. He really liked that - and I've been doing really well since then. He listens to the word (winks his eyes).

Is there an anecdote from your colorful life as a footballer dog?

Sure, but I can't and don't want to tell everything. You understand: cabin secret.

But such a little story maybe ...?

OK. Once after Benny had gotten an injury in Nordhausen and had to kick in the second team of Nordhausen, he found no watchdog for me. So I went to the sports field with the full program. I was there on the bus ride, as well as at the team meeting. My master left me lying flat. And with what was given as tactics to the players, I could only yelp. So Benny took me on his arm. Then I could see the situation better and no longer had to yelp; by the way, the speech suddenly improved in quality. During the game the bus driver kept me on a leash - that was not possible. The balls rushed past me without being able to intervene. That was against any dog rule! But shortly after the final whistle, the bus driver did not pay attention for a moment - and the mail went off. My master thought I was sprinting to him - but puff cake ... I first got to grips with the ball.

Thank you for the interview, good health and fun in Pipinsried - and many balls and bones for the future.

Woof woof.

Our dog whisperer Bruno Haelke conducted the conversation with Philly von Kauffmann.
