THE SCAN SPORT - Thanks to MeinApplaus.de, German supporters could be heard in the stadium from their couch by interacting live with an app during matches.

The German Football League has announced that it is ready to resume the Bundesliga championship on May 9. Still it will be necessary that the German authorities authorize this return on the ground which enthusiasts little the supporters since the meetings will take place in empty stadiums, behind closed doors.

Cheer, celebrate a goal, sing songs and even whistle players live

The MeinApplaus.de app

In the meantime, we are organizing ourselves across the Rhine to ensure that the resumption of the championship takes place in the best possible conditions and for everyone. An app, MeinApplaus.de, will allow fans to virtually invite themselves to the stadiums to support their team. With his smartphone or tablet in his hands, the supporter will be heard from his sofa through the stadium sound system. It will have four options available via buttons to activate: applaud, celebrate a goal, throw songs and even whistle players live. The more supporters there are connected, the more the noise will be made in the speakers equipped with this device.

At the beginning of April, supporters of Mönchengladbach had the idea of installing their own cardboard effigy, for a sum of 19 euros, where they usually sit in the stadium. The objective? Boost players' morale and prepare them for the hushed atmosphere of closed-door matches. “At first, I was skeptical, I didn't know if it would have the desired effect. But it looks pretty good, very close to reality, "said Patrick Herrmann, striker of" Gladbach "to Kicker magazine, admitting even applauding the rows of cardboard spectators when he walks the field in training," as we always does before home games. " Fans also seem to adhere well to this project. “We have over 6,500 orders. It's huge, we didn't expect that, ”said Thomas Ludwig, president of the Fanprojekt Mönchengladbach (FPMG).

Followed drive-in matches by fans gathered in stadium parking lots?

A drive-in cinema session in Essen

On the Cologne side, banners and flags donated by supporters are provided for the resumption of home matches. The idea of gathering supporters cloistered in their vehicle to attend the retransmission of the match in "drive in" mode is gaining ground. Outside of Germany, in neighboring Denmark, the club FC Midtjylland has planned to transform the parking lot of its stadium into an open-air cinema with giant screens broadcasting the matches, in order to alleviate the frustration of its public. The idea would also appeal to Christian Ramrath, president of the Borussia Dortmund fan club "Schwarz-Gelbe Essener", who hopes that the "drive-in" cinema in Essen will be able to broadcast the matches live.
