The Professional Football League (LFP) followed the health orders of the French government by bringing the season to a final halt.

The 2019-20 season is officially over. After holding its Bureau and the Board of Directors this Thursday, the Professional Football League (LFP) marks the end of the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 championships. To stop the classification of the elite, stopped after the 28th day but with a match of the 27th lifting, Strasbourg-PSG, which could not be disputed, the League was based on the same criteria as the Federations (FFF), namely the performance indicator and the direct confrontations in case of equality. First, Paris Saint-Germain is therefore crowned champion of France. OM finished second, ahead of Rennes, Lille, Reims and Nice. As expected, the top three qualified for the next Champions League, and LOSC in the Europa League. Rémois and Niçois will have to wait for the eventual holding of the Cup finals, potentially in early August. In case of victory against PSG in the League Cup, Lyon still has a chance to be European. Ditto for ASSE in the Coupe de France.

Regarding the bottom of the ranking, the last two, Amiens and Toulouse, are relegated to Ligue 2. Lorient and Lens take their place. Les Merlus are also crowned champions of France in Ligue 2. It will, however, be at the General Assembly of the LFP to determine the modalities of ascent / descent between Ligue 2 and National 1. 19th and 20th, Le Mans and Orleans will therefore have to wait to know their fate ...
