Today the self-imposed transfer stop ends in the ice hockey league. Numerous newcomers are not to be expected at EC Peiting.
Peiting - While contract extensions or new players are usually announced regularly during ice hockey-free time, there was an iron silence at EC Peiting. Because the Oberligisten had agreed on a transfer stop. It ends today. But with EC Peiting, no new signings are expected in the days after.
"It is difficult for us, because we have no planning security," says team manager Gordon Borberg. The budget is still not clear - also because the ECP usually has additional income at events in the summer - which could be lost this year. In addition, no twelfth team has been announced for the league. "There are some question marks for planning the season," said Borberg.
Conversations take place on the phone
He therefore concentrates on “keeping the team together. That is the top premise ”. However, the club has already had six departures: Brad Miller, Wayne Lucas, Thomas Schmid, Liam Hätinen, Maximilian Schäffler and Florian Stauder already left the ECP in March. We want to keep the rest of the players for the most part, ”says the team manager. "We will have a powerful group."
Some players have already signaled that they want to stay with the ECP. "You know what you have here." Borberg had contacted the players by phone after the season had ended. "It is not as nice as a personal meeting, but unfortunately there was no other way."
Surprise in Memmingen
There will be a big surprise at the ECDC Memmingen. According to consistent media reports, Brad Snetsinger, Player of the Year in the past season in the Oberliga Süd, has drawn a contract option to leave the club. Snetsinger should remain in the league. Accordingly, the Memmingen top scorer switches to the Selber wolves, who have made him a lucrative offer.
