Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The season in the women's Bundesliga should continue with ghost games. This was announced by the German Football Association after the manager meeting via video of the twelve first division teams.
Eleven out of twelve clubs voted to continue playing as soon as this becomes possible again during the coronavirus pandemic. 1. FC Köln abstained. For the time being, however, game operations will also be suspended beyond April 30th. A restart depends primarily on the approval of the politicians. Six game days are still outstanding.
The restart should be accompanied by "strict hygiene requirements, close-knit testing and continuous monitoring", it said: "The concept for the women's Bundesliga basically corresponds to the content for the two leagues of the DFL. It differs only in organizational nuances, for example in the Number of people for the defined zones inside and outside the predominantly smaller stadiums. " So there should only be around 130 people per game in the stadium.
"We have received a clear positive opinion of the clubs, this is the basis for preparing the further measures regarding the continuation of the play instinct. So we can act with a corresponding adjustment of the official disposition", said DFB vice president Hannelore Ratzeburg.
