After the leagues in the Netherlands and France are over, it seems that other senior leagues across the continent may also cease operations. In Italy, there appeared to be progress towards a resume after players were instructed to return to practice next week, but local media are now announcing that there is a big gap between the Italian government and teams. 

Italian sports minister Vincenzo Spadapura has made it clear to groups that they will not be able to return to play unless they agree to sign the medical protocol presented by the government and now there are quite a few reservations groups and fear that they will not be able to keep the players healthy. In the meantime, in the boot country, it was decided that even if the league does not renew, there will be a situation of freezing down to the second league and an increase of two teams from the second series, so the structure of 20 teams in the senior league will be maintained next season.

The one who could pay the price for ending the season in Italy is Milan. The luxury club in recent years has had difficulty returning to the big stages of European football. Milan is now ranked seventh with 36 points and a surplus, so in that case Verona will take priority and play in the European league.
