With these games for PC, consoles and smartphones, you can play soccer or football, descend mountains in powder snow or play a completely different golf.
"FIFA 20" (PC, PS4, Xbox One): The top dog among sports simulations. The "FIFA" series has been one of the best-selling games in Germany for years. For "FIFA 20" developer EA Sports has focused on street football. In Volta mode, players with a small team can go to a cage in London or a high-rise roof in Tokyo. There are also proven modes such as FIFA Ultimate Team or Career Mode.
"PES eFootbal 2020" (PC, PS4, Xbox One): The big competition to the "FIFA" series - traditionally with the slightly better gameplay but fewer licenses. A big plus for the players should be the license for the European Championship, which should be delivered with an update at the end of April. However, because the European Football Championship has been postponed, developer Konami has decided to publish the downloadable content later.
"Madden NFL 20" (PC, PS4, Xbox One): What "FIFA" is for football fans, "Madden" for football fans. The sports simulation has different game modes, including an Ultimate Team, in which players can put together a dream team. But "Madden" is usually not for beginners: the tactical depth can quickly overwhelm football newbies and the controls are not for beginners.
"Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games:" Tokyo 2020 "(Switch) - when the game with the two well-known video game heroes came out at the end of 2019, it was not yet clear that there would be no Olympic Games in 2020. No matter - because realism will become not very important in the party game anyway. Nevertheless, Mario and Sonic bring disciplines such as sport climbing, surfing, karate, javelin throwing and archery to the home couch with an Olympic flair, even for younger players.
"QWOP" (browser): Why simple, if it can be complicated? In "QWOP" a runner runs over a 100-meter track - ideally. The controls are tough: the Q and W buttons control the thighs, the O and P buttons control the calves. And that looks more like the first time babies try to walk than after a 100-meter sprint. "QWOP" offers a theoretically simple, practical but hard to master challenge and is rightly an internet phenomenon.
"Rocket League" (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch): "Rocket League" is soccer with rocket cars. The goal is to get the huge ball into the opposing goal. And that sounds easier than it is. Because the cars can not only drive on the ground, but can also fly through the arena with the boost they have collected. This creates daring maneuvers and exciting matches down to the last second. No wonder that Rocket League is also an ever growing e-sport.
"Arms" (Switch): "Arms" is a box with telescopic arms - and if you play it correctly, you will really work up a sweat. With the two Joy-Cons the switch in hand you control a character. By tilting the controller you move to the side; if you let them jump forward, your fists fly in the game. Different fighters have different strengths and weaknesses. In addition, different fists can be equipped with certain properties.
"Steep" (PC, PS4, Xbox One): The winter extreme sports simulation "Steep" has been around for a game for a few years, but still looks fantastic with glittering snow and breathtaking Alpine panoramas. The game is designed as an open world. Ski, snowboard, wingsuit and parachute take you from the summit down to the valley - either as quickly or as stylishly as possible.
"Skate City" (Apple Arcade): It's been a long time since a good skateboarding game appeared. The last "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" disappointed, a new part is hardly in sight. "Skate City" can help here: The game leads through several international cities. The goal is to land cool tricks as possible - from kick flip to pop shove-it.
"What the Golf?" (Switch, Apple Arcade, PC, Mac): "What the Golf?" is a game for people who have nothing to do with golf at all. The game starts in a classic way: A small, white ball has to hit a hole with a racket. But already in the second level the principle is turned upside down and instead of the ball, the character suddenly flies towards the flag. There are always such surprises. And at the same time, the game always parodies other games in a funny way.
"Dunk Lords" (PC): While the "NBA2k20" simulation, like the "FIFA" or "Madden" series, focuses on realism (and microtransactions), "Dunk Lords" takes a different approach. The game is a mixture of basketball and fighting game - fouling explicitly desired! With comic characters, the goal is to put the ball in the basket and distribute chin hooks and laser shots in between.
