Amsterdam (AP) - The Dutch national football coach Ronald Koeman has had an operation on his heart. Koeman had to undergo an intervention with a cardiac catheter, which had been successful, said the royal Dutch football association KNVB.
The condition of the 57-year-old is stable, his manager Rob Jansen told the Dutch TV station NOS. According to the manager's information, the bond coach was admitted to an Amsterdam hospital with acute heart problems. He complained of chest pain after cycling and was then treated with a cardiac catheter a few hours later.
Koeman may leave the hospital on Monday, the KNVB said. He would rest in the coming days. The association wished the coach all the best on his homepage: "We wish Ronald a lot of strength and a speedy recovery."
