The three participants of FC Seeshaupt hope for the play-offs at the “MA Club Championship”. Participation is worth it either way: Each player receives an entry bonus: a box of wheat beer.
Seeshaupt - Let's talk about prices first. There is wheat beer, lots of wheat beer. And a big tankard. It holds three liters. If you can not imagine that: This is a wheat beer glass in XXL format , easily half a meter high. The large pot and its filling quantity are of course only worthwhile for the time after the exit restrictions. Because who likes to drink their winning beer alone? Three soccer players from FC Seeshaupt are playing for the giant tankard these days. FIFA 20 at the console. Everyone at home. And to be completely honest: Thomas Andre , Maximilian and Peter Höcherldo not speculate on the tournament victory among the 30 teams. "Actually it's about fun, soccer and pastime," says Maximilian Höcherl.
You hardly know an opponent. No one has registered from the A-Class 5 in which the FCS competes. Not even from the district. In fairness it should be mentioned that the competition was originally intended as a championship for the Erdinger area. The newspaper colleagues from the "Erdinger Anzeiger" and the event company "MA Gold Cup" developed the "MA Club Championship" as a pill against boredom during the involuntary football break. The idea quickly spread throughout the Oberland. The Garmisch-Partenkirchen soccer players have applied, Seeshaupt even wanted to send two teams. "The tournaments were already full," says Maximilian Höcherl. The three of them are now playing with and against Garmisch in the south group.
Schwaig even signed Hannes Empl, one of the German e-sports elite
The internal allocation of starting places was extremely peaceful. “Was done relatively quickly,” says the 28-year-old striker. Thomas Andre, something like the professional, was set. He gambles regularly on the Playstation and has "almost all points" for FCS. More precisely: 15 out of 17, Andre won all five games. "I hope he keeps going, he's really really good," says his teammate. Ticket two went to Peter Höcherl, who occasionally kicks virtually. Most recently Maximilian Höcherl, who "slipped in". FIFA experience: little. Career highlights so far: barbecues including console tournament. "Of course you notice," jokes Höcherl. He hasn't got a point yet. But the results are getting scarcer. Most recently, he lost 3: 4 (against SpVgg Eichenkofen) before there was a significant defeat in the recent game against FC Forsterrn at 0: 5. "Still: Go in the right direction," said Maximilian Höcherl. In the meantime, he is asking teammates from his Seeshaupt team, including those who are not participating in the MA Cup, about training games. Even if it's really difficult to prepare for the opponents in the league. On some evenings Höcherl meets really strong e-athletes, on others beginners like himself. The top teams (Fürstenfeldbruck, Gilching, Schwaig, Wörth) all have experienced FIFA players. Schwaig even signed Hannes Empl, one of the German e-sports elite. "We really can't beat that," says chief organizer Maximilian Maier.
Hold the zero, brick wall, wait
Maximilian Höcherl needed his time to find a tactic with which he can quickly assess the skills of his opponents. He now does it like any outsider in football on grass: hold the zero, wall, wait. Half time is six minutes. With cheering the goal, repetitions and more graphic frills, a game takes 20 minutes. Compared to real football, more goals are scored. Höcherl's most important tip: find your opponent's weaknesses and benefit from them.

The preliminary round runs for about four weeks. The top seven teams in each group qualify for the play-offs. After five of 14 match days in the South Division, Seeshaupt is ninth, five points behind the coveted spots. "Play-offs would be nice," emphasizes Höcherl. He believes that a similar format is possible during the football season. Even if the time for work, family and soccer training is likely to be tight for many. "It is definitely fun." And participation is worth it either way: Every player receives a starting bonus: a crate of wheat beer.
