2020-05-07T20:24:14.837Z

It will be possible to practice sport only outdoors on Monday. Except for top athletes who will soon be able to train

A resumption of sports practice "individual and outdoor" ... The government confirmed this Thursday the track that had been planned for several days. The swimming pools, gymnasiums and all covered spaces will remain closed, at least until June 2; but sports enthusiasts will be able to resume service on Monday and take out sneakers, shorts and accessories. Provided that a series of health measures are strictly applied, which will be specified in guides, soon to be published by the Ministry of Sports.

For professional athletes and those of high level, an exemption decree is however in preparation. The government considers that, like an ordinary person who can access his professional space as of May 11, athletes who have been deprived of their activity since the start of confinement must be able to find their place of work.

The decree which could be published on Monday should allow professional and high-level athletes to be able to prepare outdoors, as well as indoors. But always with extremely strict rules.

The training centers and Insep will gradually reopen

No collective training will be possible, at least until the beginning of June. On the other hand, athletes should individually be able to access the weight rooms, basketball courts, and a priori, swimming pools, which was no longer possible since March 17. It remains to be seen whether this measure will concern all of the 5,500 athletes present on the high-level lists, or those who have a short-term deadline.

The training centers and, in particular the Insep, will gradually reopen from Monday. Insep welcomes 800 athletes in the Bois de Vincennes in Paris. Not all will return at the same time. Discussions are already underway with the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Agency and the various sports federations in order to establish priorities, based in particular on the various sports calendars.

Some are currently in the process of setting up different systems, aimed at their athletes but also their clubs. The leisure practice should gradually be able to resume. But this time only outdoors and not yet collectively.
