The Italian government announced today that the first division football clubs can resume team training on the 18th of May, in a big boost for the season’s completion plans.

Reuters quoted the Italian government as saying that the "scientific committee has reviewed the health protocol that the Italian Federation intends to implement to ensure the training resumes in a safe environment."

She added that the recommendations of the committee, which will be strict and binding on all, will be sent to the Italian Federation to make the necessary amendments to the protocol to allow a safe resumption of group exercises on the 18th of May.

It is noteworthy that the Italian league has been suspended since the ninth of March and the government has not yet set a date for the completion of the season.

The Italian clubs got the green light to resume training on Monday, but only individually while respecting safety measures.
