Mannheim (AP) - SV Waldhof Mannheim requests the German Football Association (DFB) to vote among the clubs before deciding to restart the 3rd division.

"I have requested a new vote. I do not see that the DFB wants to continue the season based on an outdated opinion, but under new conditions, keyword neutral venue," said Waldhof Managing Director Markus Kompp of the German Press Agency.

The 3rd league is scheduled to continue on May 26. Recently, the DFB is also considering neutral venues should it not be possible to play in certain stadiums due to official decisions. At the end of April, 10 of the 20 third division clubs had decided to continue the season beyond June 30th. "The mere consideration that the games could possibly be played at a neutral venue creates a new situation. This could result in additional costs for the clubs, for example in terms of accommodation or travel," said Kompp.

On Monday afternoon, the DFB Presidium will decide to restart if the politicians approve it. Before the game resumes, the pros are expected to complete two series of coronavirus tests, the first from May 10th to 12th, the second from May 12th to 14th. So far, no tests have been carried out at SV Waldhof.

"We don't have a hygiene officer yet, I told the DFB that. The DFB wants to help us out with someone from its own network, but so far we have no one," said Kompp. "This would not be feasible for our team doctor because he also runs his own practice. If you assume that each test takes about ten minutes, it would not be possible for him to do it in time alone."
