Lewandowski again won the title as the top scorer in the league with 21 goals in 32 games.

For Lewandowski, the path to the first division opens

Now the big clubs in Poland became aware of the 1.85 meter striker. After two years with Znicz Pruszkow, he moved to first division club Lech Posen . Lech Posen paid 380,000 euros for the then 19-year-old. The following year, the center forward contributed 21 goals in 34 games in all competitions. Lech Posen won the Supercup this season and became champion in the Polish league for the first time since 1993 .

On to Germany. Robert Lewandowski changes to BVB

In summer 2010, the Pole moved to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga for a transfer fee of 4.75 million euros . In his first season Lewandowski was mainly used as a joker because Lucas Barrios was set. Nevertheless, he was able to tax eight goals in 33 games and thus had a share in winning the German championship . In his home country Poland , the striker was voted footballer of the year .

The striker's final breakthrough came in the 2011/2012 season. Lewandowski started in all 34 league games and scored 22 goals. Borussia Dortmund was able to defend the German championship. In the DFB Cup final, Robert Lewandowski scored three goals against Bayern Munich. The BVB won with 5: 2 and the first double won their history.

In the 2012/2013 season, Borussia Dortmund was runner-up behind FC Bayern Munich. The club caused a sensation in the Champions League . In the first leg first leg, BVB defeated Real Madrid 4-1, Robert Lewandowski scored all four goals . In the final, Dortmund then lost the all-German duel against Bayern Munich 1: 2.

Lewandowski played his 300th Bundesliga game on the tenth matchday of the 2019/2020 season . In these 300 appearances, the center forward scored 216 goals and 61 assists. He celebrates almost every one of his goals with a special celebration that has a family background. On August 29, 2019, Robert Lewandowski extended his contract early until June 30, 2023.

Robert Lewandowski: His private life

Robert Lewandowski has been married to Anna Lewandowska (born September 7, 1988, born Stachurska) since June 22, 2013 . Anna Lewandowska is a Karateka and won the gold medal with the Polish national team at the 2013 Fudokan Karate World Championships in Prague . Anna gave birth to their daughter Klara in May 2017 . In 2020 there was even more family growth with Baby Laura. Lewandowski's wife Anna also pays close attention to her husband's diet. The striker places great emphasis on his diet and body.

The Polish city of Kuznia Raciborska named a street after him in 2017 .

The Polish Post issued a stamp with the portrait of Robert Lewandowski in 2018 . The circulation of the stamp was five million.
