Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - According to a media report, the German Football Association (DFB) has set May 30 as the final restart date for the 3rd division.
The clubs have been asked to prepare for the next weekend and to reserve quarantine hotels, reports the "Bild" newspaper. Accordingly, the DFB has scheduled the first games after the Corona break and also informed the clubs about the game schedule.
The DFB already announced May 30 as the planned start date two days ago, but this still requires political approval. There have been arguments about the league for weeks. Nine clubs had recently asked for the exact schedule of the remaining games, others plead for an end of the season and - like 1. FC Magdeburg, Hallesche FC or FC Carl Zeiss Jena - refer to the official regulations in their federal state.
Magdeburg and Hallesche FC are not allowed to hold team training or competitions until May 27th due to official regulations. In Thuringia, this applies to Jena until June 5. According to the "Bild" report, the DFB has scheduled a home game for the bottom of the table on May 31. Jena might then have to do this in another state. At its extraordinary Bundestag next Monday, the DFB wants to decide that home games can also take place in foreign stadiums.
