"It is important to get the season done"

The ball rolls again. Soon, this will also be the case outside the first and second soccer Bundesliga. Because: The third division also plans to restart after the Corona break.

The return to the interrupted season is scheduled for May 30th. This is a difficult topic for football fans. Because one thing is certain: the remaining games of the 2019/20 season must go without a spectator.

The discussions about whether to cancel or continue with ghost games - Werner Kirschner from TSV 1860 fan club "Miesbacher Löwen" followed her closely. "I think that if you stopped playing in the third division, it would be kind of unfair for all teams," he says. "I think the season should end."

His fan club and of course he's not happy about the so-called ghost games. "It's just sad," admits Kirschner. "The games are anemic and they are sure to miss a lot." So the emotions are missing.

An important point should also be: The dependence of the third division, including TSV 1860 Munich, on the revenue from the spectators is much greater than in the two leagues above. And these are now missing and - according to reports - bring some clubs of the third German division into real existential needs.

In addition, the Miesbacher Löwen naturally also lack the excursions to the time-honored municipal stadium on Grünwalder Straße. "We usually go to the games five to ten times a season," reports Kirschner. "Every game that you can't see in the stadium hurts you."

It is also painful that - due to the official requirements - there will be no joint watching of the games on television. "That's why nothing is planned," says Kirschner. "But of course we are in close contact with each other."

He still maintains his opinion that it is important to end the season in a sporty way. Especially since the lions can still have justified hopes for promotion to the second Bundesliga. "It is not clear whether it is the right time to start the season again," says Kirschner. It remains to be seen whether the third party. Liga really can start operating on May 30th.
