Bamberg (dpa) - The future of basketball in Bamberg seems secure for now. Contrary to a recent announcement, the Brose group of company boss Michael Stoschek will remain the main partner of the Bundesliga club beyond July 1 of this year, as the Franks announced.
The Brose Group, which is affected by the Corona crisis as an automotive supplier, had originally intended to sell its shares in Bamberger Basketball GmbH. However, there was no deal in the sales negotiations. Stoschek is now continuing as the majority shareholder.
Brose is still available, "so that national sponsors and Bamberg entrepreneurs can be won as additional partners," said Stoschek and Bamberg managing director Arne Dirks in a joint statement.
This means that more companies are to be acquired that will join Brose as shareholders in the Bundesliga club. It had already been ensured that Brose remained the name and main sponsor.
The Bamberg athletes are currently preparing for the final tournament of the Bundesliga in Munich. There, from the beginning of June, ten teams are to determine the new champions in three weeks.
