Magdeburg (dpa) - The mutual accusations between the German Football Association (DFB) and the football third division 1. FC Magdeburg continue. The sports director Mario Kallnik reacted to the publication and the tone of a DFB statement with incomprehension.

In an interview on Magdeburg's YouTube channel, Kallnik said that some DFB words should not be included. The laboratory therefore canceled a corona test on Friday for capacity reasons, because no courier driver was available. It was only on Saturday that the DFB granted a special permit that the association could drive the samples to the laboratory itself.

Previously, the club had applied for the relocation of the 3rd soccer league due to a failure to conduct the first series of Corona tests, which the association had rejected.

At the same time, the DFB pointed out that "1. FC Magdeburg had canceled an appointment for testing on the same day scheduled for last Wednesday at short notice without stating reasons." This countered Kallnik with the fact that the DFB had postponed the restart of the league for an indefinite period of time on Tuesday and the club did not see the need to carry out the tests. Especially since the availability in Saxony-Anhalt does not allow any team training until May 27th. When the new start for May 30 was announced on Wednesday, it was too late for the test.

Kallnik denied the statement that Magdeburg's interpretation of the DFB's hygiene concept was an "error". It was based on how it went with the first and second division clubs. They had two series of tests before moving to the quarantine training camp. "The word quarantine alone says that I protect or protect something. So if we go to a hotel now, we don't know if one is infected or not. So it's a normal training camp and not a quarantine training camp," said Kallnik.

Kallnik emphasized that they were in favor of a new start in the 3rd league, but only under somewhat comparable conditions for all clubs. This is only possible if the 1st FCM can also complete two to three weeks of team training. "It is not in sight far and wide, but only for a few days. We criticize that and reserve the right to take further legal steps," said Kallnik.
