Hoffenheim put an end to seven games without wins in the German Bundesliga by winning 3 goals to 1 at home to Cologne.
Christoph Baumgartner scored at the start of each half to give Hoffenheim two goals while Cologne played ten men after Sebastian Bornov was sent off for a violent foul in the 26th minute.
Stephen Zuber added a third goal in the 48th minute, but Hoffenheim's Benjamin Hubner got a red card after the second warning as a result of a strong connection with Cologne player Dominic Drexler after two minutes and guests reduced the result by Florian Caines in the 60th minute.
With this victory, Hoffenheim moved up to seventh with 39 points, with six matches remaining at the end of the season, which resumed its matches 11 days ago after a pause that lasted more than two months due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
It is noteworthy that all matches are held without fans to reduce the risk of infection with the virus that has killed hundreds of thousands around the world.
