2020-05-28T17:52:56.312Z

Victim of a ruthless and rare brain disease, Arthur left at the age of 5. He was a big fan of Kylian Mbappé who renamed him

His name was Arthur and he was not old enough to leave so quickly. Originally from the Lyon region, he was only 5 years old. After eight months of fighting against a ruthless disease, a rare and incurable brain tumor - the infiltrating glioma of the brain stem, which affects 50 children a year in France - the little boy flew to the stars and a star has it accompanied in this long and last journey with his words.

Our Arthur left to join the stars this midday, I am so dejected and at the same time so proud to have been able to meet and forge a bond with this boy as strong as you my little hero. He spent 8 months fighting like a superhero and taught me how important the simplest things in life are. You are and will remain an example for all. To us to continue you, all together to make you shine. I love you. Your friend Kylian 🙏🏽

Because before leaving, Arthur had fulfilled a last dream: to meet his idol Kylian Mbappé. A few weeks ago, facing him, frail at the back of his chair, the little boy's eyes were shining.

This Thursday, at the announcement of his disappearance, the star of PSG and the Blues world champions split on his Instagram account with a vibrant and poignant tribute to his young companion: "Our Arthur left to join the stars this noon, I am so dejected and at the same time so proud to have been able to meet and forge a bond with this boy as strong as you my little hero. He spent eight months fighting like a superhero and taught me how the simplest things in life are most important. You are and will remain an example for all. To us to continue you, all together, to make you shine. I love you. Your friend Kylian. "

Arthur had received the support of personalities from French skiing like Martin Fourcade. DR / Facebook Martin Fourcade

Arthur's parents, Sandie and Alexandre, created last fall, after the announcement of the disease, the Shooting Stars association to help families and children plunged into the same distress. Tessa Worley and Martin Fourcade were particularly committed to help them.

His mother posted on his Instagram account these words: "My Arthur, My Superhero. After 8 months fighting like a superhero, our Arthur left to join the stars this Wednesday noon. At every moment, he gave us a lesson in strength and courage, a lesson in life quite simply. The solidarity, the love, the tenderness that Arthur has managed to unite around him are all engines that have allowed us to support him until the end of this ordeal. Thanks to him, we have been able to add life to the days if not to add days to life. It is up to us to continue, all together, to make it shine. "

It is always possible to make a donation to this association in tribute to Arthur on the association's website and to find out about it on his Instagram account.
