The future channel that will broadcast Ligue 1 from next season has just announced a partnership with TF1. The contours of the offer and the subscription are becoming more precise.
The chain will be called Telefoot
The new holder of TV rights for Ligue 1 for the period 2020-2024 will name its future channel Telefoot , like the famous Sunday program on TF1 . Mediapro released the news on Tuesday at the same time as a partnership with the first channel. The latter, in addition to granting the operating license to the Sino-Spanish group immediately offering it real notoriety to the general public, will produce a program broadcast on Sunday noon. It will also provide pre-match and post-match content as well as vintage Telefoots, which will bring viewers back to the great moments of French football. The Telefoot show will remain on the program on TF1 , independent of the new channel, and at its usual time (11:00 am).
Lizarazu and Margotton headlining before other big names
To convince the general public to embark on the Telefoot adventure , Mediapro hired the services of the duo Grégoire Margotton-Bixente Lizarazu. The voices of the French football team on TF1 will comment on around twenty matches per season. A big blow on the transfer window that calls others. Laurent Blanc and Michel Platini were contacted to assume the roles of star consultants. Franck Sauzée ( Canal + ) was approached, Habib Beye and Eric Carrière too, but they decided to remain loyal to the encrypted channel. It is on the side of RMC Sport that some heads could arrive given the announcement by the Altice group to put the chains on a dry regime.
