BFV presents new concept for changing clubs in summer

The solution working group (LAG) " Club Change" of the Bavarian Football Association has - as reported - presented concrete suggestions for club changes in the Bavarian amateur sector. The BFV board will discuss this tomorrow and make a decision. Below are some questions and answers that the association has published.

Change of players after the end of the 2019/20 season

A player wants to finish the 2019/20 season in his club and then switch. He is now concerned that he cannot change if the season 2019/20 does not end so that the club can be changed in the change period I (summer) or change period II (winter).

After the end of the 2019/20 season - regardless of when that is and whether there will be any time for a 2020/2021 season afterwards - there will be club change windows at the beginning of the following season in accordance with the rules of change period I.

Special features of trainer contracts

What about the contracts of the coaches that are running for the 2019/2020 season ? Are these automatically extended until the season is over?

The contract with the trainer is a personal employment contract (private law contract) between the club and the individual. The contract is normally closed until June 30, 2020, i.e. a temporary employment contract. This does not extend automatically. Club and trainer have to discuss how they want to proceed.

Change depends on the contract situation

A player coach wants to change clubs - both as a player and as a coach. What is to be considered?

It depends on the contract situation. Usually there is a trainer employment contract until June 30th, 2020 and a new contract from July 1st, 2020 . In this case the trainer can of course start working as a trainer for the new club. But there is also a component as a player; In this case, the issue of the right to play depends on the approval or agreement with the releasing club just in time for the start of the season.

Club change in the winter period

Will there be a change period in winter?

Yes, if the whole autumn cannot be played - or if only a few weeks can be played in October - there will be a winter change window in January 2021 . If the 2019/2020 season is completed by December 2020 , a change window I will follow in accordance with the summer rules.
