Erding - If a game in the MA Club Championship starts at 9:30 a.m., something must have gone wrong beforehand. The spontaneity of organizer Maxi Maier was required in the round of 16 of the Erdinger Kreismeisterschaft. The match between FC Moosinning and SV Wörth had already been played a day later than planned, "and then they also needed a decision game", laughs Maier.
He was sitting comfortably in front of the Herzogstubn when the phone call reached him. "I had to draw the decision game quickly." Then he tore up a beer felt and, under the "notarial supervision" of some specialists, the pairing was drawn together.
"And unfortunately it was the wrong one," he says with a laugh, because Moosinnings Marco Esposito had already drunk a beer or two and didn't want to go to the console. So they agreed on 9:30 a.m. "It was definitely the earliest kick-off of all time," Maier continued, "but we broadcast the game live, and many actually set the alarm clock for it." Incidentally, also Lukas Eschbaumer, who then fell asleep again and did not even notice that his teammate still shot the FCM into the quarterfinals.
However, it was the end of the line, because top favorite FC Schwaig simply doesn't give up. "To be honest, it didn't go well at first," says Vincent Sommer, who won against Lukas Eschbaumer. "Sure, we have the best player of the tournament in our ranks with Hannes Empl, but I'm all the more pleased that things are going so well for me personally and for Daniel Fichtlscherer. The game against Lukas was open all the time, could have been different, luckily the better end for me. ”
SV Eichenried is waiting in the semi-finals, and after initial difficulties in the main round is now getting better and better. "I still beat Nico Gruber 6-0, but he and his two colleagues have got better and better," says Maier.
SC Kirchasch qualified for the second semi-final by defeating SG Langenpreising / Lieferorf. "After the preliminary round, I didn't really expect it, since we only achieved fifth place, so it's now all the better to be able to play in the final," says Markus Zollner. His quarter-final opponent Dominik Dorsch had offered him a strong and exciting game, which the KSC player finally decided with a counterattack in the 90th minute to make it 3-1. And now it's against group winners TSV Gilching-Angelsried. "If you compare this and our table position in the preliminary round, I think we are the clear underdog, but we definitely want to grab the final."
