London (dpa) - Formula 1 boss Chase Carey wishes Sebastian Vettel also this season in the premier class of motorsport.
"Someone like him who is a hero to so many and accomplished so much, I hope he will still race when he is 60, but in the end that's his decision," Carey said in an interview that the TV station RTL has broadcast. "He's certainly accomplished enough, but it looks like he still wants to compete." Vettel (32) is leaving Ferrari this season. The four-time Formula 1 world champion has not yet commented on his future career plans.
Carey honored Vettel as an exceptional figure. "Our drivers are the brightest stars, the brightest lights, they are heroes. The drivers are the ones who inspire us with their courage and skills," said the American. "And if someone wins four world titles, they are at the top and one of the greatest heroes."
