French club Olympique Lyon announced today that it has signed a contract with Cameroon striker Carl Toco Ikampi, loaned from Spain's Villarreal, for four years.
Leon activated a clause allowing the player to be purchased for 11.5 million euros, 12.86 million dollars.
Ikambi, 27, scored two goals in eight league matches since joining the club on loan in January. The French club said in a statement: “We are pleased to announce the activation of Lyon, the purchase of Ikambi from Villarreal.” “The Cameroonian international signed a four-year contract.”
Ikampi, who played 30 matches for his country, defended the colors of French club Ange, who is in the French league from 2016 to 2018, and won the award for best African player in the limelight.
