The Syrian Association of Purebred Arabian Horses will resume speed races on the sixteenth of this month after stopping about two months due to the outbreak of the Corona virus by setting up the first race in cooperation with the Directorate of the Arab Horse Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform and the martyr Basil Al-Assad Equestrian Club in Hama.

The race will take place without a public presence in the framework of the procedures to address the emerging virus and on seven runs of pure and registered Arab horses for distances of 1400 meters and 1800 meters distributed on the stages according to the horses' degrees and ages.

In a statement to the SANA Sports Representative, Honorary President Basil Jadaan said, "This race is a good start for the return of the association's activities, which we hope will culminate in the national show of purebred Arabian horses, which is usually held annually in the tenth month, hoping that there will be no obstacles to the transfer of international rulers who rule Championships of our national shows, ”adding that the association’s return to resuming its activities will motivate breeders to continue producing and raising purebred Arabian horses and thus preserve this important national wealth.

The association held nine races on the regular races calendar for the past year and witnessed strong competitions and good participation of Arab horse breeders with qualitative and distinguished levels.
