PSG: Mbappé could face his half-brother in a friendly match

Jirès Kembo Ekoko, half-brother of the world champion striker, is on trial for a week at Sochaux, who will challenge PSG in a friendly match on the 5th

As friendly as it is, the meeting could have a very special flavor for Kylian Mbappé. On August 5, PSG will face Sochaux (Ligue 2) in a Parc des Princes behind closed doors for its last preparation match for the Final 8 of the Champions League in Portugal. The world champion could then cross paths with his adopted half-brother.

Since Thursday, Jirès Kembo Ekoko is indeed on trial at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard for a week, as the Doubien club indicated in a press release. Aged 32, the striker trained at Stade Rennais, where he played a professional role between 2006 and 2012, has been free from any contract since leaving Turkish club Bursaspor in July 2019.

He "could participate in the next two FCSM preparation matches", specifies the Sochaux club, which must face Sporting Club de Lyon (ex-Lyon-Duchère in National, 3rd division) this Friday July 24 and Belfort (National 2) on Tuesday July 28th.

If his test proves successful, Jirès Kembo Ekoko could therefore cross swords with PSG and the one he considers a brother on August 5. Arrived in France from the Democratic Republic of Congo (ex-Zaire) at the age of 6, the former international tricolor Espoirs was raised in Bondy by the parents of Kylian Mbappé, Fayza and Wilfrid, who became his legal guardian.

After Stade Rennais, with which he scored ten goals in Ligue 1 during the 2011-2012 season, the promising striker nicknamed “Kembinho” in the Breton club has played in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and therefore Turkey since 2017. Due to knee problems, he has not played with Bursaspor since August 26, 2018. Last season, he spoke with the Rennes reserve.
