The new coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Yorgos Donis, landed in Israel early Monday morning with his entire coaching staff, which includes an assistant coach, goalkeeping coach and fitness coach, ahead of his official presentation as the champion coach. The Greek is known to have signed for two years, earning about 400,000 euros each season.

Donis, 50, is due to transfer his debut training with the team tomorrow, when according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health he is allowed to train with a mask over his face while 2 meters away from the players, and at the end of training return home for isolation.  

In light of the fact that the coach will have to stay in isolation, it seems that he will not stand on the lines in the Champions League rematch on Thursday against Hapoel Beer Sheva and also against Riga, in the 1st qualifying round of the Champions League next week, unless the Yellows request an exception from the Ministry of Health. 

The Greek's main goal will be to strengthen the squad with a brake and a foreign striker, who will replace Jair Amador and Chico Opuado who left the team. At the same time, it seems that there is significant progress in the negotiations with Eyal Golsa, who received a new and upgraded offer and now the contact is expected to sign a new two-year contract.
