Although they are united by the same passion for horses, the equestrian world and equestrian sport are not used to being side by side. For the past five summers, the Pôle international du Cheval Longines and the former jockey with four golden whips, Dominique Boeuf, have been organizing the Longines Equestrian Challenge Normandy. This meeting allows these two families to cross swords in a competition that is played in two stages.
The riders will open the ball for this 2020 edition, this Thursday August 13 at 8:25 pm, at the Deauville racecourse. Headliners in their discipline, they will swap their competition attire for a gown before setting off at full gallop for a contested flat race on the 1,500 m of the fiber-sand track.
The next day, the jockeys will compete in a jumping event marked out by ten obstacles with a height of 80 cm to one meter at the Pôle international du Cheval during this second round scheduled for 8 p.m.
Last year, the duo of Théo Bachelot and Astier Nicolas, Olympic champion, won this challenge, which is played as a team.
