Maccabi Tel Aviv has announced the extension of John Dibertolomeo's contract
The Yellows captain (29, 1.83) who was absent from most of last season due to two significant injuries will continue next season as well. The team will announce in the coming days the signing of Chris Jones and Ante Žižić and the extension of Cloiaro's contract

Thursday, 13 August 2020, 13:22Maccabi Tel Aviv today (Thursday) officially announced the extension of John Dibertolomao's contract for next season. The National Guard will open its fourth season in the yellow uniform, after a season in which he was absent for an extended period due to two different injuries. He is expected to continue as captain for the 2020/21 season as well.
Dibertolomao (29, 1.83) arrived in Israel in the summer of 2015 after two years in the second Spanish league and played for two years in Maccabi Haifa, was selected as the player of the season in the Premier League in the 2016/17 season in which Maccabi Haifa reached the Final Four. In the summer of 2017, he signed a three-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv and consistently worked his way up and his position in the team until he became one of Yad Eliyahu's favorite players and the most influential on the bench. He is considered a player who is very popular with coach Yannis Sapropoulos who insisted on keeping him on the roster.

Dibertolomao suffered two serious injuries this season - the first in December when he tore his chest muscle, and was out of action for about six months, and the second just before the return of the Corona backlog, when he suffered an Achilles injury that sidelined him and prevented him from returning to the season.
The captain joins Yuval Sussman, Dori Sahar, Elijah Bryant, Tyler Dorsey, Scotty Wilbkin, Othello Hunter, Oz Blazer and Sandy Cohen who are already signed for next season. The team is expected to announce in the coming days the extension of Angelo Cloiaro's contract, and the signing of Chris Jones and Ante Žižić.
