In isolation, Abidal did not attend the defeat of Barça

Eric Abidal was not at the stadium in Lisbon on Friday to witness his team's historic defeat in the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich (8-2). The technical secretary of the Catalan club lived the black evening from his hotel, alone in his room, after being put in solitary confinement. 

The former international was not invited to the stands because he had been in contact on Tuesday with Samuel Umtiti, positive for Covid-19. The central defender, who does not develop symptoms, was obviously not on the scoresheet for the quarter-final. Abidal did not return either with the Catalan delegation which returned to Barcelona by plane. The leader waited Saturday to leave Lisbon and make the journey by car as a precaution.

An extraordinary board of directors on Monday

Back in Spain, the technical secretary attended, like all the Barcelona staff, the outburst of the press but also of the supporters against the club.
