Kompany ends and begins a career

Vincent Kompany ends his career and becomes coach at the Belgian record champions RSC Anderlecht. As the club announced, the 34-year-old replaces the previous coach Franky Vercauteren. The 89-time Belgian international moved to Anderlecht as player-coach from the top English club Manchester City during the 2019 summer break. From October Vercauteren acted as head coach because Kompany did not have the necessary trainer license.

Despite numerous injuries, Kompany has played a major role in the Citizens' successes over the past decade. His dream goal for the 1-0 win against Leicester City on the penultimate matchday of the 2018/19 Premier League paved the way for City to win the championship title with Liverpool FC.

Polter is moving to the Netherlands

Striker Sebastian Polter has found a new club. After his contract with the Bundesliga club Union Berlin ended, the 29-year-old switched to Fortuna Sittard and received a two-year contract with the Dutch first division club. Polter fell out of favor at Union at the end of May and was banned from playing after he rejected an offer to waive his salary in times of the corona crisis on the part of the club. He had played for the Berlin Bundesliga club with interruptions from 2014 to 2020.

FCA extends Cordova and lends it to me

Bundesliga club FC Augsburg has extended the contract with striker Sergio Cordova until 2025 and is loaning the Venezuelan to Arminia Bielefeld for the new season. "I feel very comfortable in Augsburg, but I need match practice for my further development," said the 23-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 62 Bundesliga games for FCA since 2017.

"Sergio is a versatile attacker who convinces with his passion, his running intensity and his robustness. In addition, his mentality will make him a good fit for our team," said Bielefeld coach Uwe Neuhaus about the eight-time national player.
