LE SCAN SPORT - Fearing to have to manage "huge focus" with the Covid-19 crisis, the Paris city hall has opposed the organization of a fan zone to follow the final of the Champions League.

There will be no fan zones in Paris to follow the PSG Champions League final on Sunday, AFP learned from a police source on Thursday. The city hall of the capital is also opposed to such an installation, told AFP Anne Souyris, deputy for health of the mayor PS Anne Hidalgo. The fan zones proposal issued Wednesday by the Minister for Sports Roxana Maracineanu is "a bad proposal, it is not considered and does not make sense from a health point of view," said Ms. Souyris.

Paris SG faces Bayern Munich on Sunday evening in the Champions League final in Lisbon, while the health situation is increasingly tense in the Paris region due to a resurgence of the coronavirus epidemic.

"All I see is a huge cluster," said the elected Parisian, according to whom "we have to party, but we have to get used to doing it differently", and who recommends focusing on " small groups of less than ten, cafes where distancing is possible. " The Health Assistant emphasizes that the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo "is on the same line" as her.

Thousands of fans gathered on Tuesday evening around the Parc des Princes and on the Champs-Elysées to celebrate the qualification of Paris SG, often to the detriment of physical distancing measures. Incidents and clashes also took place with the police.

The PSG for its part is organizing a retransmission at the Parc des Princes in front of 5,000 supporters, the maximum level imposed by the government because of the health crisis. An event that follows the same logic according to Ms. Souyris: "If we do this at the Park, we risk having gatherings that we will not manage to manage".

On RMC / BFMTV, the boss of the Republican deputies Damien Abad, for his part, called for “exemplary sanctions” after the incidents which marked the celebrations on the Champs-Elysées on Tuesday. According to the police headquarters, 36 people were arrested for thefts and violence on this occasion.
