Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The four-time German champions 1. FC Kaiserslautern and second division relegated Dynamo Dresden open the season in the third soccer league in front of an audience of millions.
The game on September 18 (5.45 p.m.) will be shown live on ARD and on pay-TV provider MagentaSport.
The German Football Association, in coordination with the security authorities, will only make the further timely scheduling of the first four match days in the next few days following the scheduling of the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga, the association announced on Thursday.
17 game days are planned until Christmas, including three weekly game days. In addition, the 3rd division will not take a break during the national team periods in October and November. The last matchday before the three-week winter break is dated December 18-21, before the 18th matchday starts on January 8th in the new year. The season finale will take place on May 22, 2021. All schedules made are subject to the condition that the official regulations on site enable the game to be played.
MagentaSport broadcasts all 380 season games live. ARD and its third programs show 86 live games on free-to-air television.
