The next race is just a week after third place. Marcel Schrötter is again on the hunt for points in Spielberg.

Spielberg / Vilgertshofen - Just one week after his first podium of the current season, Marcel Schrötter is allowed to run again. It should help the Vilgertshofener that the fifth Moto2 race weekend will be held again at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria).

"After finishing third last Sunday, I'm of course extremely motivated for the second Spielberg race," said the 27-year-old, according to a press release. “It is incredibly good to have concluded a weekend with an enjoyable race day for a long time.” The qualifying sessions on Saturday would have given not only him, but his entire “Liqui Moly Intact GP” team a lot of self-confidence. “We saw that we are able to achieve strong performances,” says Schrötter. "It wasn't just third place on the grid, but rather the way we achieved this result."

Mixed results on the first day of training

The Vilgertshofener would like to call up this overall performance again this weekend. The two qualifying laps this Saturday at 3:10 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. will be followed by the fifth Grand Prix of the season on Sunday at 12.20 p.m. For the first time it will be held as the "Grand Prix of Styria".

“But I also know that it won't go by itself, but that I have to get back to the point in order to repeat it,” said the Kalex pilot. In the free practice sessions on Friday he still had some room for improvement. In tenth place in the morning followed ninth place in the afternoon.

“The gaps are incredibly close on this track. To have a small mistake or maybe even just a tiny little sag would mean that we have to start from the sixth row or even further back, ”warns Schrötter. The first Spielberg weekend showed very impressively how competitive Moto2 is. That's why Schrötter pays particular attention to two or three corners that he didn't really manage 100 percent recently.

Live broadcast

The qualification runs (Saturday, from 3 p.m.) and the race (Sunday, 12.20 p.m.) can be seen live on television on ServusTV. At the same time, there is a free live stream on the Internet at ServusMotoGP.com. In addition, the DAZN streaming service broadcasts all trainings and races from Spielberg.
